2014 Christmas, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Sexy Sienna, Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Impassioned, Givenchy Le Rouge Carmin Escarpin, lipstick, orange-red, review, swatches, Tom Ford Wild Ginger, winter
Oh, I’m definitely in a festive mood… and I’m definitely loving it!
The the white, the silver and the gold, the sparkle of the winter lights and the joyful sound of the Christmas Carols are everywhere around me and that fills my heart with happiness!
What else warms my heart?! A beautiful festive red lip! Here are a few of my favourites at the moment, as promissed in my “Winter 2014 Essentials Tag”… all in this bold orange-red colour, something I wouldn’t have dared to wear a while ago! Maybe I have changed… Maybe there’s something in the air?!… I don’t know! But now, this is how I like it!
More of an accessory than a lipstick, the Tom Ford Lip Colour in #15 Wild Ginger will definitely be the center of attention of my whole look. It’s warm, vibrant, distinct, a rich orange-red which has a particular amount of sassiness to it.
I adore the creamy formula, love the finish, I’m absolutely in love with how opaque it is – full colour deposits in a single swipe, hiding effectively any lip pigmentation. It is so easy to apply without bleeding nor feathering, and above all I absolutely adore the luxurious signature Tom Ford packaging.
Another gorgeous option is from Givenchy Le Rouge, #306 Carmin Escarpin. I already wrote a review on how gorgeous their nudes are, so I had to go back and get a red too.
My choice, Carmin Escarpin is a bright poppy red, an orange red with warm undertones and a soft, luminous shine as a finish. Creamy and opaque, it’s definitely a pleasure to apply and to wear, even withouth a lip liner. It also fades beautifully leaving behind a soft red stain.
My last orange red pick is the Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy #330 Impassioned, another bright vibrant orange with warm undertones and a delicate shine. It also has fully opaque coverage, same as the the Tom Ford Wild Ginger and the Givenchy Carmin Escarpin. It applies smoothly, without any patchiness even on dry lips, being very moisturising at the same time. There’s also no such thing as setting into fine lines with this one either.
Here is how they look on my lips…
Overall impressions: gorgeous bold colour, very creamy and hydrating, very opaque formula with such a classy shine as a finish… I Know I will definitely wear them a lot this month!
