The new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation embodies anything you might need and want in a foundation, from a sheer, easy to wear, no makeup-makeup, everyday look to a full coverage in a single drop.
I guess you all know by now what my makeup philosophy is – to enhance your natural beauty, rather than covering it under layers and layers of unnecessary products. I simply think that NARS came to support me with that, by creating this gorgeous, gorgeous product.
It claims to be a serum-like, oil free, 16 hours wear base product, that will give you the perfect finish whether you’re outside in natural beaming sunlight, or indoors under artificial lights. It was also made with fancy new technologies which neutralise redness ( which I’m so glad it does since that’s my major skin issue at the moment ) and discolouration, by using clever green pigments.
– check out how liquid that is!
And believe me, it really does what it says! It is a high coverage foundation but at the same time manages to remain luminous and natural; nothing like the traditional high coverage foundations, which look heavy and often cakey, as if you’re wearing a mask.
For the state my skin is in at the moment, a single drop/a pump ( as advised by NARS too ) of this foundation is clearly enough to cover my entire face… And no joke! I’m talking fully full coverage here, even sheered out… Not the kind of coverage I’m usually after I have to admit, but this is a total exception because it feels extremely lightweight on the face, like pure pigment in a water-like drop and the finish is as luminous as my other serum foundation, the Dior Diorskin Nude Serum ( review here ). But for those with major skin issues ( active acne, scaring, severe discolouration etc. ), I think two pumps will definitely build up the right coverage to hide all that…
– wearing NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation Light 3 Gobi, without any concealer or powder
It is the perfect foundation for those with combination skin! I used this on and off for a good period of time, even when I was dealing with some dry patches, so my advice for those who have normal to dry skins or suffer from those pesky dry patches to thoroughly moisturise before applying it! As you should anyway!… Otherwise this foundation, for as light as it is it might still cling and accentuate them.
This is clearly a more mattifying foundation than the Dior Nude Serum, which is a plus for those with oily skins who can use it as well!
In the hot Summer days, this will make a fabulous foundation to wear especially for those of you living in hot and humid climates.
The application is the same as with my other serum foundation; see that here.
I adore the consistency, even if before getting used to it I made a “bit” of a mess.
I love the fact that even if this is such a lighweight formula, despite that it manages to pack on the most coverage I’ve ever encountered in such foundation, AND without compromising that luminosity I prefer in my base products.
A plus is also the fact that with a bit more of attention to skincare it can be used on all skin types.
My colour in this NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is Light 3 Gobi and it matches my fair skin perfectly, being a neutral shade – the perfect balance between pink and yellow undertones. I’m not worried it might look too pale in Summer since it offers me the best excuse to bust out my bronzers and properly use them.
So, these are my thoughts on this new NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation.
Have you tried it? Can’t wait to hear what you think about it!
See you soon, beautiful!… And Happy April everone!
PS: pardon the abrupt intro, but I didn’t wanted to waste my words and get straight to the review!
– it’s the first NARS foundation that comes with a pump
– it comes in such a variety of shades, 20 to be precise ( check the NARS website to see them )
– before you choose, keep in mind that it is possible that you might be a different shade in the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation than your usual NARS face base… And this one tends to oxidise a bit during the day also. So you’d better visit a NARS counter before making your purchase!
– you might also want to prime when using this foundation if you have extremely visible pores, but it’s clearly optional
